“The Regulators 250” filming underway
Travis Souther, playing the part of James Pugh, shoots one of a volley of shots.
Filming on new B-roll, updated interviews, and new interviews has begun on a project to remake “The Regulators” in preparation for the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Alamance which is just a few years away in 2021. Once again, ShutteRelease Films is pleased to partner with the Alamance Battleground and with a multitude of re-enactors to finally polish the documentary more into the Director’s original vision. While the first release is complete, there were some scenes which were impossible to capture on the timeframe and budget that the project was being developed under.

Additionally, several technical issues can finally be resolved. For one, we have been able to re-interview Dr Carole Troxler with a much-improved technology for dealing with keyed images. Another issue we had was the inability to use our preferred video editing application for the first release. The limitations and problems with it have been ironed out and the difference in quality of the final product is in keeping with the honor that we wish to accord the Regulators as this important milestone is approaching.
